PERSONAL TRAINERS
Alex
Over the last five years, Alex has worked with a wide variety of clients ranging from D1 athletes to older adults. Alex’s specialty is general fitness and strength training. He draws his passion for fitness from his love of sports and an appreciation for how living a healthy lifestyle can change your life. Alex received his M.S. in Health and Fitness and a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Pittsburgh. He has also received a CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He’s a die-hard Pitt fan who loves being outside when he’s not in the gym.
Ray
Ray has experience working with D1 athletes, general population, and cancer survivors. His training background is in bodybuilding, CrossFit, and general fitness. He believes the greatest thing he can teach clients is how to love exercise. Growing up as an athlete and living a generally active lifestyle helped him find his passion for fitness. When not in the gym, he enjoys hiking the many trails around Pittsburgh.
Ray earned his M.S. in Health and Physical Activity from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock University. He is also working on a Personal Training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Tim
Over the past 20 years, Tim has helped develop, condition and train numerous student-athletes who have gone on to compete in the Olympic Trials, NBA, WNBA, professional basketball in Europe, Asia, South America, and MLB.
Tim holds many certifications but has earned his Master’s Strength and Conditioning Coach certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
Terra
Terra has been actively involved in fitness from a young age. Terra graduated from Florida State University and received her J.D. from Duquesne University school of Law. Terra branched out from her law career and pursued her passions for fitness, exercise and helping people transform their bodies as well as their minds. She received her certification through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, one of the country’s most respected associations for trainers.
Rose
After sustaining a serious shoulder injury from mountain biking and looking for a way to recover, Rose stumbled upon Pilates. She hasn’t looked back.
Rose is certified through Balanced Body Pilates in various capacities such as chair, reformer, tower, Bodhi, Barre and Orbit. She also has a masters in Social Work and finds that Pilates is another way to help her clients - both physically and mentally.
Tyler Lelis
Tyler is a former athlete who has 10+ years of experience training individuals and groups of all ages and fitness levels. Tyler takes a personalized functional approach to helping you reach your fitness and health goals, with a focus on client specific bio-individuality.
Tyler loves personal training because he understands and relates to the sense of accomplishment and self-love that comes from reaching your health and fitness goals. Tyler is also extremely passionate about functional health and wellness - merging your physical pursuits with your diet and lifestyle to achieve optimal health, and he loves sharing this knowledge with his clients. His approach to personal training aims to give clients lifestyle tools to not just look their best, but also feel their best; mentally, physically, and in everything that they do.
Rae
Rae became passionate about fitness through lifting, running, and competing in triathlons and hopes to spread her love for fitness with new clients as she helps them reach their goals.
Rae earned a B.S. in Exercise Science and Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and received an Exercise Physiologist certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. She is currently working on her PhD in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on how exercise can improve symptoms of depression. She hopes to use her knowledge to help clients feel better both physically and mentally.
Justyna
Justyna has always had a passion for athletics and exercise. With over 10 years of experience, Justyna excels as a functional strength and mobility trainer, and as a pre- and post-natalexercise specialist. She holds myriad certifications, including PPSC, CFSC, and GGS, and she is a semi-professional table tennis player.
Justyna earned a PhD in Health, Exercise, and Kinesiology and an MS in Physical Education and Corrective Exercises from the University of Krakow in Poland. She focuses on helping clients persevere to achieve their goals and always strives to be a positive, uplifting influence in peoples' lives.
Ashley Toia
Ashley is passionate about all things health and wellness. She attended Duquesne University and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2010. After several years of practicing hospital pharmacy, she recognized the critical need for preventative medicine. In an effort to help clients optimize their health and prevent chronic disease, Ashley went on to receive her Personal Trainer Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She believes that deep down, most people are motivated to improve their health- they just need a little guidance and encouragement.
In her free time, you can find Ashley doing every imaginable form of exercise. She especially loves barre, weight training, Pilates, hiking, cycling, and boxing. She also has a daily mediation practice, and enjoys reading and listening to podcasts about science, health, and nutrition.
Rooney
Motivator. Survivor.
Rooney lost her leg 5 years ago. She’s an inspiration to all of us. She may not always seem warm and fuzzy but can be easily won over with treats!
